Introduction To Zoopharmacognosy for Horses Workshop Sunday 22nd April 18

Sunday 22nd April 2018 9.30 AM - 4.00 PM - LOCATION CHURT SURREY

Self-selection is a fantastic way for every horse owner to help keep their horse emotionally & physically well. Horses who have the chance to self-select are calmer, healthier & happier, and so are their owners!

This amazing, fun and easy to learn technique is a must for all horse owners, whether you have a top competition horse, a happy hacker, retired or anything in-between! This course will teach you how to start working straight away with herbs and essential oils with your horse – you will be blown away by how bonding it is for you and your horse and I promise you horses will love you even more! Most people don’t realise how much introducing a bit of choice into your horses life can relive so much stress for you and your horse so don’t delay start today and you will never look back!

This course is suitable for everyone wanting the best for their horses, no prior knowledge necessary, but equally suitable for professionals and budding therapists!

Horses instinctively know what they need to keep their body & mind healthy. Unfortunately modern horses don't normally have a big choice of different herbs in their environment, so we need to bring that healthy environment to them! Self-selection meets the horses innate needs to forage for what their mind / body needs from nature. As a benefit you learn lots about how you can use the herbs / oils to! Taking back control of our horses health & happiness is so rewarding.

So for the scientific people:

Zoopharmacognosy refers to the process by which animals self-medicate and naturally forage plants and their essential oils, algae, clay and other natural remedies.

The Demo Day will be run by Catherine Edwards, who is an Animal Health Practitioner with a BSc (HONS) Biology (specialising in Animal Behaviour & Physiology), Qualified Equine Iridologist, Applied Zoopharmacognosist, Animal Communicator & Photonic Red Light Therapist and is extremely experienced in self-medication work.

The Workshop will introduce the animal owner to:

  • Understand why and how all animals self- medicate;
  • What Applied Zoopharmacognosy is and why you and your horse need it!
  • Learn how to safely and effectively offer remedies (herbs, essential oils & natural remedies) for self-selection, how it can help a horse and how it can fit into your management regime;
  • Learn, through a demonstration, how to read a horse’s response towards offered essential oils, macerates, dried herbs and minerals;
  • Recognise self-medication behaviour in horses, offering them the opportunity to enhance their own wellbeing;
  • Learn how to enhance your horse’s environment to allow them to continue to self-medicate.
  • Learn how incorporating self-medication will greatly deepen your connection between you and your horse

Catherine Edwards

My name is Catherine Edwards. I have a BSc in Biology, specialising in Physiology & Animal Behaviour , and an MBA. I also have professional qualifications as follows:

· Diploma Equine Iridology

· Diploma Applied Zoopharmacognosy (all species)

· Red Light Therapy Level 3 Practitioner

· ACT 2 Animal Communicator

· CHEK Holistic Lifestyle Coach Level 1

My real passion has always been holistic health, and empowering people to take back control of their physical and emotional health, for themselves and their animals. Over the last 20 years, I have studied, and continue to study, all aspects of physical and emotional health, from diet & nutrition, to energy healing, meditation, and lots more. The results I have seen with myself and my clients never ceases to amaze me - our bodies are self-healing devices, we just need to lean how to listen to them and give them the tools they need. I am a mother of 2, have been lucky enough to be a guardian to horses, cats, dogs and guinea pigs for over 30 years. I have a keen interest in natural horsemanship and apply a holistic approach when working with horses, using a combination of Equine Iridology, Herbal Remedies, Zoopharmacognosy, Red Light Therapy, Animal Communication and a detailed knowledge of Equine Behaviour and Nutrition.

Having qualified as an Equine Iridologist with the world renowned Ellen Collinson I have built up an extensive knowledge in this area. I am continuing my professional development in this area through ongoing research, case study review with qualified peers and attending relevant courses as appropriate.

I work with an amazing global network of therapists, practitioners, Holistic Doctors and vets, and with the latest cutting edge technologies that can accelerate the healing journey for each and every one of us. I am excited to share this journey with you.

"Thank you for your wonderful courses, it was just fantastic and inspiring. I am just amazed by the amount of information Catherine knows and freely gives to you. She is a person who likes to share ideas and knowledge and has the groups attention. There is a practical in the afternoon where we all can participate if we want to. It gives you an understanding of what your animal is showing you. I would highly recommend both courses as they empower you to help, calm and relax your animal when needed.
